Food is good and maintains it temperature due to the hot plate Great for sharing (starters) Service is fast and they are very nice Ambiance is quiet and it gives you more time to savor the food and chat

The food here is GORGEOUS. Papadums, vegetable samosas, chicken madras, chicken zhalfrezi, papua rice, and garlic naan - all beautiful. The Nepalese do it right!

What a great place I think this is my favourite Indian restaurant in manchester. The service was a little slow last time I visited but the food made up for that. All of the food was amazing especially the lamb and chickpea. They gave us a few 20% off vouchers so will definitely be back very soon.

I think I have now found my favourite curry house in Manchester with Nemaste Nepal. It was that good I has to go twice in one week, however, the service on the second time was a little slow due to them being exceptionally busy which was excused for the quality of the food we was served up. The mixed sizzler starter is very good value and served 4 of us as a starter which makes it great value as well. The lamb and chickepea curry is my favourite of what I tried. If you're not into spice then mention it to them as a lot of the dishes do pack a punch. If you're in the mood for a curry then definitely make an effort to visit here.

Had a beautiful meal here on NYE '14. Every table was taken, luckily we had booked earlier that day. Service was attentive, which was great considering it was so busy. I had the paneer tikka sizzler as a starter - at £7 it was a wee bit dear for this type of restaurant - however the portion was huge! Really could have shared this starter with the hubby or have it next time as a main - it was very very tasty! His chicken tikka was much smaller but great flavour. I then had lamb khonsar (apologies if I haven't spelt that correctly! - it wasn't the karahi) which was rich, spicy & didn't have that awful pool of oil on the top which you often find. He had chicken passanda, we shared rice & paratha. Dinner came to £37, which we felt was really good value for the quality, portion size (came home with doggy bag) & service. Restaurant decor is 90s throwback, which I totally loved!

Really quite impressed. I'll admit that I have no idea what courses we ordered because we gave that task to on of my friends in the small group - a regular. Food: Very tasty. The 'dumpling' starter (C- something) was fantastic. Very interesting popadoms with lime pickle by default :) Main courses were very nicely done and (just for information) the single rice portion was big enough for everybody. Prices:very reasonable; two of use were driving so mostly soft drinks but it was still only £21/head including the tip. Parking: Can be tricky - I was tipped off and parked a little way down lapwing lane. It's possible to park in the Metropolitan pub - but there are lots of 'clamping' threats (no idea how enforced these are so it might be safe to have a drink there first). I would definitely return.

Ive been going to the Kathmandu family of restaurants ( The Great Kathmandu, The Third Eye that was in Burnage, The Himalaya, Namaster Nepal) since I was 6. And I came to love the food, especially the to die for Makhani, Makhanwala dishes. There truly is a good option of food and not just the same curry with different names and different prices like many. Ive never had a bad meal, I find it hard to better the Makhan dishes as they are just so divine but sometimes I take the bull by the horns and try something else. The clientele can be obnoxious at some of these establishments, but in recent years ive only visited namaste and its usually failry quiet when we go. The early bird deal is great to, £11.95 for a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains complete with dall and a choice of rice or chips. This offer includes the famous chicken makhan dish and I believe anyone should try this before they die. Really one of the best places in Manchester to eat. Far better than anything Rusholme has been able to offer for the past 15 years.

Namaste Nepal is located in the heart of West Didsbury and is run by the daughter of the owners of the Great Kathmandu restaurant. The Neon signs and safe interior are clearly not the reason locals and people further afield are drawn into the restaurant. It's the wonderful quality of the Nepalese cuisine and the friendly staff and ambiance. I always get very excited with Nepalese food, because the flavours, although similar to Indian, seem so much deeper as they mix sweet, spicy and unusual savoury ingredients particularly well. There are 2 dishes that I always have to order, without fail. The first is their famed starter, Momocha: steam-cooked dumpling filled with minced lamb and served with a spicy sauce; positively delectable. The second is Himalaya Chicken: boneless chicken in a cashew, fresh cream and mango sauce. Sounds simple but delivers a multitude of rich flavours to your tongue, I can't recommend it enough. The portions are large, the accompanying wine list has been well selected and it's likely to cost you less that £20 including 2 courses. Fantastic value.
